Global Technical Group, the leading end-to-end solution provider for building management in Romania, has agreed to sell its majority stake to Abris Capital Partners.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații advised Global Technical Group on a transaction by which the group of companies founded by Fadi Rida and Mihai Stănescu have successfully attracted a private equity fund manager, supported by renowned international investors, by transferring a majority stake to Abris Capital Partners.

The firm offered legal assistance on corporate and commercial, M&A, competition law, intellectual property and IT, banking law, taxation, labour law, as well as during the negotiation of conditions for the conclusion of this transaction. Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații have obtained a referral to the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) for a preliminary ruling on the interpretation of Article 9(1) of Regulation (EC) No. 1889/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2005 on controls of cash entering or leaving the Community.

The legal team consists of Robert Roșu (Partner), Manuela Gornoviceanu (Managing Associate) and Alexandru Gogoneață (Associate).

After 8 years of litigation, all claims of Football Club U Craiova S.A., sustained through a whole suite of procedural steps, are irrevocably proven to be unfounded. On Tuesday, June 11, 2019, the Bucharest Court of Appeal issued a final award of dismissal on damages of about 300 million Euros requested by Football Club U Craiova S.A. further to the decision of the Romanian Football Federation to exclude this club on July 20, 2011. After 8 years of litigation, all claims of Football Club U Craiova S.A., sustained through a whole suite of procedural steps, are irrevocably proven to be unfounded. The appellant company - a global leading supplier of healthcare infrastructure – challenged a final judgment based on which the contract had been awarded to another undertaking. Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații won a coveted Deal of the Year Award last night, during an awards ceremony held in Budapest. The event is organised by CEE Legal Matters, an international publication, and has gathered more than 90 lawyers from leading international and domestic outfits from the CEE region.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații and five other international law firms (CMS; Dentons; Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer; Ropes & Gray; Kirkland & Ellis) were the winners of the 2018 CEE Deal of the Year Award, for their work on the Sanofi/Zentiva – Advent International deal. 

In addition, the same firms received a second award - the Czech Deal of the Year Award for the Sanofi/Zentiva – Advent International transaction.

Finalists for the prestigious and peer-selected CEE Deal of the Year Awards were chosen by panels of highly-regarded private practitioners in each country, with winners determined by a second group of prominent legal experts from across Central and Eastern Europe. Deals submitted for consideration were signed in the 2018 calendar year, and the jury based their assessment on deal complexity, market (and regional) significance, and value, among other factors.
